I’m Norvelin Pichardo, a dedicated labor leader with over 30 years of experience advocating for healthcare workers through 1199SEIU. For the past decade, I’ve served as an Administrative Organizer, fighting for fair wages, strong benefits, and safe working conditions. Now, I’m bringing that same passion for advocacy and empowerment to my role as Fundraising Manager. My mission is to ensure our foundation has the resources it needs to continue supporting those in need, amplifying voices, and driving meaningful change in our community.
My Story
My journey in organizing has always been about standing up for people—helping workers fight for their rights, engaging in political advocacy, and pushing for policies that create a more just society. I’ve worked on campaigns supporting progressive candidates, lobbied for legislative changes, and championed causes like immigrant rights and affordable housing. Through this work, I’ve seen firsthand how funding fuels impact. Without financial support, critical programs and initiatives can’t thrive. That’s why I’m now focused on fundraising—building strong partnerships, connecting with donors, and securing the resources that allow us to continue making a difference. I believe in the power of community, and I’m excited to help grow and sustain our foundation’s mission.
